The Austin Natural Science Center is a hidden gem located in the heart of Austin, Texas. Since the 60’s this center has been engaging families in the natural wonders local to Austin. This center is expansive; it includes a live bee hive, planetarium, dinosaur pit and numerous wildlife exhibits. Tucked away in the corner of Zilker Park and lack of strong branding, the ANSC was in need of attention. This campaign shines a new light on a special part of Austin. 

This was a team project made in collaboration with: Nathan, Cris and Luke.

 

Mission
The ANSC provides hands-on educational exhibits and recreational activities that increase awareness and appreciation of the natural environment.

Curiosity opens doors to knowledge, and this hidden gem of Austin welcomes those eager to discover and learn. 

Identity
Inspired by merit badges, the new dynamic identity highlights the unique features that Austin Natural Science Center has to offer.

Three banners placed in key locations on the MOPAC bridge, directly above the ANSC, encourage viewers to discover the center.

 

The Trade Post:
The trade post is an unique, hands-on experience at the Austin Natural Science Center. Frequent visitors bring in natural treasures ranging from photos and feathers to buffalo skulls and antlers for points. With these points you can trade your way toward a bigger prizes. 

The application is an extension of the trade post allowing you to view items up for trade, keep track of your stats and share pictures of your discoveries to rack up points. 

When you reach certain benchmarks and points you will be rewarded with a patch that reflects your rank.
